Updates on the museum Collection website in the section Decorative Arts

We continue to replenish our website with new exhibits. Today we are presenting the updates in the section "Decorative Arts”.

You can examine the exhibits in details in the subsection "Russian Metal Artworks”.

Since the second half of the 19th century, skilfully made tableware has become the sartorial statement of Russian silver artisans; crystal and glass products in silver rimming become ingrained into fashion.

The design and manufacturing of the precious dinner ware and table decoration was carried out by the leading jewelry companies that were the suppliers of the Russian Imperial Court (Karl Faberge, Bolin, the Grachev brothers, Ovchinnikov, Khlebnikov, Kurlyukov), as well as numerous workshops and jewelers’ artels in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kiev, Odessa and other cities.

Museum Collection presents the works of almost all of the listed artists and workshops. The collection of the museum gives a complete idea of the scope and level of development of this type of production. All exhibits are distinguished by original design and brilliant jewelry work.
