Spring flowers from the museum Collection "Lapidary Art Items" section (video)
Today, on one of the sunny and warm spring days, the videos "Spring Flowers" (first and second parts) from the section "Lapidary Art Items", stored in the museum exposition are posted in our Video Archive.
Flowers are a beauty that leaves no one indifferent. But, unfortunately, these beautiful creations of nature do not last long, their beauty fades rather quickly. However, flowers made of stone - legendary products of lapidary art artisans, storied in many fairy tales and songs, can live for centuries. Natural stone gives a flower a special unusual and magical character. Just like flowers, stones also come in a wide variety of shades and colour combinations.

Natural stones are a peculiar form of life. Stones are born, grow, age and die. It happens so slowly that we cannot feel it.
There is hardly a single person who could remain indifferent and not succumb to the charm of amazing flowers and bouquets created from stone. For a master stonecutter, it has always been a matter of honour to carve a flower "as if it were alive" - with leaves, veins, stamens....
The section "Lapidary Art Items” features the works of famous stone artisans – Paul Dreher, Manfred Wild, Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio, Eberhard Bank, Carl Faberge, Emile Galle and others.
