The opening ceremony of the 11^th the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival took on the Red Square in Moscow on August 24, 2018.

Fourteen Russian and twelve foreign military and folklore ensembles are participating in the festival this year. The festival will last until September 2, 2018. This year the participants will perform not only on the Red Square, but in the parks, and central railway stations of the capital as well.

Mireille Mathieu will be guest performing during the festival for the tenth time. This year she will appear on the Red Square four times: on August 31, September 1, and twice on September 2.

The program of the event includes military, classical, folk and variety musical performances, military orchestras ceremonial parade defiles and dance troupes’ shows, tattoo performances, laser and pyrotechnic programs.

More than 150 teams from about 50 countries were the participants of the event for its ten-year history.
