Retrospective of the New Year's Eve publications on the museum Collection site

Before long, we will welcome the New Year, a long-awaited holiday for us, with its joyful fuss, feast and cute gifts. The expectation of the New Year holidays, happiness and joy is reflected on the faces all people passing by. All over the world, the New Year is one the most beloved holidays, when we are seized by fabulous and cheer mood, we strive to give others heartfelt concern, tenderness and care! We hope for miracles and love...
Moreover, what miracles can happen without Christmas tree? The Christmas tree, decorated with sparkling toys and garlands, has long been considered the symbol of Christmas and New Year. It is impossible to imagine a holiday without this forest a marvel of beauty.

In 2017, on the eve of the New Year holidays, we published an article about the history of the New Year tree in Russia. The museum Collection section Musical Houseware features a number of musical Musical Christmas tree stands.

The same year, we published an article narrating the story of creation of the Christmas carol "Silent Night". The museum Collection features metal disc by Polyphon Musikwerke with the recording of this melody. Of all the famous Christmas songs, "Silent Night" is perhaps the most gentle and intimate.

The story of the Christmas song "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" was posted on our website on the Catholic Christmas Eve 2018. The recording of the Christmas hymn "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" was posted in the museum Sound Library.

In 2018, we talked about one of the New Year symbols in Russia - the chiming clock on the Spasskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin. Musical selection comprised of the melodies of various striking clocks from the museum Collection repository, created in France, Great Britain, Switzerland, Germany and Holland in the period from the 16th - to the second half of the 19th centuries, is posted in the museum Sound Library.

In December 2019, for The Nutcracker ballet at the Mariinsky Theater premiere day on December 18, 1892, we prepared thematic musical selection and article about the history of this ballet creation.

In 2019, we posted an article on the customs of Christmas carols - "Christmas festive and congratulatory songs of courtyards’ rounds. A musical selection with Christmas carols-songs digitized from paper music rolls Duo-Art on Reproducing grand piano "Steinway Duo-Art", USA (1926).

Shortly before the end of 2020, when it was time to think about holiday decorations, an online broadcast of a master class on making New Year's toys was held especially for our young visitors on the museum Instagram. Link to publication https://www.instagram.com/sobraniemuseum/.

In December 2020, the museum hosted the New Year drawing completion "Inventing Orchestrion". The children’s drawings were admirable; we all were delighted with the talent and incredible imagination of the competition participants. The bottom-line album of the Timiryazevskaya art School apprentices is posted on the museum website.

At the end of December 2020 - the beginning of January 2021 in the section "Museum Stories" we posted two video clips about the Christmas table decoration - "Christmas table. Decoration and Serving".

Audio story dedicated to the Musical ceramic panel "Holy family" from the museum Collection exposition, created by the Swiss craftsmen at the turn of the 19th - 20th centuries, was published under the heading “Audio Stories” on Christmas Eve 2020.

On the first day of 2021, a New Year photo album with the images of the coming year symbol - a bull, was posted in the museum Photo Gallery. The album is comprised of art items from the collection sections "Western European Metal Artworks" and "Lapidary Art".
