The Illusion Cinema, Gosfilmofond of Russia (the state film archive) and museum Collection are launching the project “Cultural Exchange”. Within the framework of the joint project, the documentaries about iconic artists and cultural personalities of the 20th century will be shown in the Illusion Cinema. After seeing the films, spectators will have the opportunity to visit thematic excursions in the museum Collection, which they have to enroll for in advance. Thus, two neighboring cultural institutions are combining their potential in order to share unique collections with visitors.

The first part of "Cultural Exchange" is dedicated to the 155th birth anniversary of the talented sculptor  Paolo (Pavel) Troubetzkoy. On February 18, museum Collection launches the exhibition of sculptural works by Paolo Troubetzkoy that had not previously been demonstrated to the general public. And from February 18 to March 30, every Thursday at 11:00, two documentaries about the life and creatve work of the artist from the collection of the State Film Archive, will be demonstrated in the Illusion Cinema - "The Monument to Emperor Alexander III Case Record" (1990, 33 min.) and a fragment from the film "Seeking the undying" (1993, 10 min.), also dedicated to Paolo Troubetzkoy. At 12:00, after the films screening, the audience as a part of the organized group, will attend a thematic excursion in the museum Collection. It includes a tour through Paolo Troubetzkoy jubilee exhibition and the museum main exposition as well, which features old self-playing musical instruments, mechanical rarities and decorative art items by the prominent masters of the 19^th – 20^th centuries.
