Museum stories on Saturdays: “A Safety Pin Story” (video)
We continue our cycle “Museum Stories” and today we will talk about a safety pin, which is a device that combines a pin with pointed tip, a lid that covers this tip, and a spring that makes it easy to unfasten and fasten. Pins come in a variety of shapes, sizes, are made of different metals, they are designed for pinning, bonding soft materials or for decorative purposes – a safety pin can serve as a fastener for a brooch or other jewelry item, it can be an independent jewelry decoration as well.
You will learn about all this from the video “A Safety Pin Story”, and can have a close look at the jewelry pins presented in the museum Collection exposition in the section “Jewelry and Accessories”.
