The traditional New Year exhibition of amusing automata from the museum Collection repository is opened in the All-Russian Decorative Art Museum on December 13, 2019. The exhibition “Magic of Dolls”  is held within the framework of the program “The Shortest Day of the Year”.

Mechanical musical instruments and dolls were among the most popular areas of decorative and applied art in the past centuries, combining STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and creative imagination. Skillful artisans managed to preserve the New Year magic recipe of creating wonderful dolls and bewitching mechanisms. Nowadays these items are stored in the major museums and world best private collections, including those presented in the museum Collection exposition, one of the largest private collections of the world cultural significance.
