Exhibition “Eugene Lanceray (1848-1886). Commemorating the 170th birth anniversary"

The exhibition dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the outstanding Russian sculptor Eugene Lanceray will be held in the Central House of Artists (CHA) within the framework of the 44th Russian Antiquarian Fair on October 20-28, 2018. The exhibition is organized as a non-commercial project by the Cabinet Gallery together with the Museum Collection and  the International Confederation of Antique and Art Dealers (ICAAD) with the promotional support of Moscow government Culture Department and “Russian Fine Art" magazine.

More than 40 sculptures by E. Lanceray, including those that are cast in a single copy, from two major Russian private collections: Museum Collection of David Iakobachvili and collection of Konstantin Zhuromsky comprise the basis of the exhibition.

Museum Collection provides sixteen items.
These are the statuettes and sculptural compositions: “The Tsar's Falconer of the 17th century” (1872); "Chief Officer of the Life Guard Hussar Regiment" (1885); "Circassian - horse herd" (1873); "General Skobelev" (1882); “Return from the Races” (1882); “The Hussar Trumpeter” (1877-1885); "Little Russian nanny (Ukrainian)" (1878); “The Winter Troika” (1881); "The Departing Troika” (1873); "In the sleigh" (1870); "An Arab with the Murdered Son" (1885); "Dead Cossack" (late 19th century) 4; “Peasant Girl with Cow (1860s) and set of three items: clock “The Tsar's Falconer and two candelabrum “Streltsy” (1870's).
