The automaton, fashioned as a clown musician holding a guitar, is mounted on a rectangular wooden base covered in burgundy velvet, trimmed with braid along the upper edge, and raised on turned spherical feet. When the mechanism is wound and switched on, a melody plays: during the performance, the clown turns his head from side to side and nods it. His right hand moves across the strings of the guitar while his left hand holds the fingerboard. The movements repeat to the musical accompaniment. A winding key is in the set.
