The automaton is fashioned as a young woman sitting cross-legged on a circular stool mounted on a rectangular wooden base covered in red velvet, holding a mandolin in her hands. When the automaton is switched on, the figure of the young woman comes to life: her right hand raises and lowers, running her thumb along the string chords of the mandolin, while her left hand raises and lowers the neck. Her right leg lifts slightly, and her head turns from side to side and tilts forward. The action is accompanied by melodies played by the musical movement.
Winding key is in the set.
