The automaton is fashioned as a male figure holding a beer mug, with a beer barrel replacing the lower part of his torso. When the mechanism is switched on, the right hand raises the mug to the mouth three times, the lower jaw moves, and the head turns from side to side and tilts. The left hand rubs the stomach. The action is accompanied by the sounds of the musical movement.
