The automaton is mounted on rectangular wooden base covered in olive-green velvet. When the spring-driven mechanism housed in the base is switched on, the figure of the young woman comes to life: her left hand rises, opening the lid of the basket filled with flowers, and then lowers. Her head turns, following the movement of her hand, with the cycle repeating. All movements are accompanied by the sounds of musical movement equipped with a cylinder and a musical comb.
