The automaton, fashioned as an elegant lady standing behind a column, is mounted on the shaped Neoclassical papier-mâché base with the imitation marble finish, designed as a two-step staircase bordered by panels featuring applied relief green mascarons. When the spring mechanism is wound, a melody plays: the lady moves her right wrist to fan herself, smoothly turns her head from side to side, and moves her walking stick left and right with her left hand, with all actions repeating to the musical accompaniment.
