The automaton is fashioned as a male figure standing on a rectangular base with chamfered corners. The base is covered in purple velvet and trimmed with braid along the upper edge. The figure of the automaton is fixed to vertical axis extending from the base and passing through its right leg. When the automaton is switched on, the figure of the farmer comes to life: the entire figure rotates around the vertical axis while its left leg raises and lowers, and the torso bends at the waist, tilting alternately to the right and to the left.
