The automaton, fashioned as a young female flower vendor, is mounted on molded wooden base covered in red velvet and trimmed with the braid along the lower edge. When the spring is wound and the mechanism is switched on, a melody plays: the girl smoothly turns her head from side to side and moves her right hand holding a bouquet over the basket; the upper bouquet of flowers then rises, revealing the head and small hands of a tiny bisque doll that bows and blows kisses. As the girl moves her hand to the right, the upper bouquet lowers to hide the doll, with all actions repeating to the musical accompaniment.
