The automaton is mounted on a rectangular lacquered wooden base raised on three shaped golden metal feet.
In his right hand, the clown holds a metal clapper with a ball at the end.
Metal bell is positioned in front of the figure. A violin is fixed to the
clown's left leg, and a bow is attached to his right one. A drive handle is
located on the base rear side. When the handle is turned, the right hand strikes
the bell with the clapper, and the right leg moves the bow across the violin
strings. The head moves in time with the right hand. The movements of the
figure are accompanied by the sounds of musical movement equipped with a
cylinder and a musical comb, housed inside the base.
