Piano Melodico is a musical instrument mounted in black wooden case shaped like a grand piano on three carved supports: one support in the form of an antique female figure with a wreath on her head and a lyre in her hands, the other two are in the form of cartouches with female heads. Music media: folded cardboard book music.

The instrument is covered with a wing-shaped lid on a detachable hinge with guide rails for folded cardboard book music and volume control knob. The deck, cast metal frame with strings and hammer mechanism with vibrating hammers and a damper are under the lid. A device for reading folded cardboard book music and controlling the hammer, a damper lifting handle, folded cardboard book tensioning mechanism under a hinged wooden strip with a carved figure of Cupid with a scroll on top and round sticker with the manufacturer's trademark are in the case right side. Folded cardboard book music is stretched between two rollers—a rubberised driving roller and a wooden pressure roller—and passes through a series of 73 swinging reading levers, one for each note. The rotation of the drive roller causes the tape to move, and the swinging of the bar with hammers causes them to vibrate and strike the strings. Only those hammers whose reading keys have entered the holes in the cardboard book vibrate and produce sound. The keys pressed by the cardboard block the hammers, and the corresponding strings do not sound. A special feature of the instrument is that all musical pieces are performed with a tremolo effect. The mechanism is activated by turning the handle. The set includes eighteen cardboard music books 46.3 cm wide.
