The miniature dancer is shown in an energetic stage movement culminating in the raised arm bearing a parrot. Despite the statuette’s small scale, its sculptural treatment remains clear and coherent. The short bronze costume closely follows the torso before opening into freer drapery around the hips, accentuating the turn of the body. Cold painting brings out details of the clothing and varies the surface of the metal. The pale ivory of the head, arms and legs has a smoother texture and softer tone. Perched on the raised hand, the parrot is a distinctive feature of the image and completes the upward gesture. The round stepped pedestal gives the small statuette the necessary stability.
