Theodore Ullmann’s «Dancer» is shown in a compact stage movement in which the turn of the torso, the gesture of the arms, and the ornate costume create the principal effect. Silver patination gives the bronze a cool sheen, while polychrome enamel and colouring enliven individual details of the clothing. The pale ivory of the face and exposed parts of the body introduces another texture typical of Art Deco chryselephantine sculpture. Despite its small scale, the statuette retains an intimate quality, while the combination of silvery, coloured, and pale surfaces makes it visually rich. An oval moulded base of green onyx completes the work with a concentrated colour accent.
