Rectangular gold snuffbox with a hinged lid. Inserted into the lid is an oval painted enamel miniature featuring William IV, King of Great Britain and Ireland, depicted as a man with short gray hair in military uniform with insignia. The miniature is enclosed in the frame with a chased floral ornament. The surface of the lid is filled with decorative Gothic architectural elements and large rosettes. The side surfaces of the lid are adorned with Gothic arched finials; the sides of the snuffbox feature quadrifoil motifs. The base is decorated with a large rosette formed by Gothic architectural details in the shape of quadrifoils and arches.
