    Rectangular-shaped wooden snuffbox with a hinged lid, featuring gold mount on both the body and the lid. At the center of the lid is gold medallion featuring chased coat of arms of Augustus Frederick, Duke of Sussex, enclosed by an oak wreath border. The corners feature gold and enamel appliqués in the shape of the Order of the Garter star, the Royal Guelphic Order, the Royal Society of London, and a Masonic symbol. The mount is decorated with the chased foliate frieze of acanthus shoots and leaves against matted background. The mount of the upper body is adorned with matting, the corners with appliqué leafy rosettes, and the lower body with a garland of oak leaves.
