An oval-shaped gold snuffbox with a hinged lid. The sides, base, and lid are decorated with enamel paintings imitating dendritic moss agate, surrounded by polychrome enamel garlands and bead border against matted background. At the center of the lid is an oval enamel medallion featuring a composition after Joseph-Marie Vien's 1762 painting "The Virtuous Athenian Girl" (La Vertueuse Athénienne). The medallion and the edge of the lid are highlighted by wide bands set with diamonds.
