The edge of the lid is scalloped and embellished with inset diamonds. The body is decorated with four shaped reserves featuring Alpine landscapes. The spaces between the reserves are covered with black enamel ground and complemented by foliage ornament frieze and rosettes. The base features an oval miniature depicting an Alpine landscape with mountains, a house, and a river; the edge of the base is highlighted with a foliage ornament border against black enamel ground.
