A rectangular gold snuffbox with canted corners and a hinged lid with a stop. The lid features a painted enamel miniature with the battle scene depicting the assault of  the Ochakov fortress: the foreground shows soldiers preparing for battle, while the background features ships on the left and the silhouette of the fortress on the right. The walls of the body are decorated with rectangular light blue enamel panels enclosed in white enamel frame; the canted corners are adorned with relief stylized palmettes. On the base is an octagonal reserve with light blue enamel, bearing the inscription: "TRANCHEES DES RUSSES // DEVANT OCZAKOW" ("Russian trenches in front of Ochakov"). The reserve is enclosed by a narrow white enamel frame and wide border with floral pattern.
