Wooden salt cellar executed in the Neo-Russian style, modelled after a traditional peasant chair-shaped salt box (solonitsa-stulchik). It features a hinged lid and a tall, semi-circular back panel, embellished with applied silver mounts. The side walls and lid are decorated with shaped silver overlay plates featuring raised scroll and bead ornamentation, with stylized flowers in oval medallions accenting the corners. The exterior of the semi-circular rear panel is covered by a silver plate with relief scrolls along the edge and central engraved monogram "АИ". The rear panel is surmounted by a pierced circular finial decorated with beaded borders. Enclosed within the finial is a pierced (cut-out) depiction of a warrior (Saint George the Victorious) slaying a dragon with a spear.
