Rectangular silver box with traces of gilt interior, fitted with a hinged lid. The sides of the body are smooth and free of decoration. The top of the lid is adorned with a Neo-Russian style circular medallion featuring a chased, bust-length depiction of an ancient Russian warrior (vityaz) wearing a ierikhonka helmet and chainmail, holding a bared sword in his hand and a shield with a raised double-headed eagle. The perimeter of the medallion is accented by four applied square plaquettes decorated with chased stylized scrolls.
