Pantone Color Institute announces color of the year 2022

The color of the year 2022 is a blue-violet shade Veri Peri. For the first time in the history of Pantone, it was not chosen from the catalogue, but was created anew, focusing on what is happening in the world. To achieve the shade Veri Peri 17-3938, experts turned to digital technology, which has become an integral part of life. The release describes this color as "curious and intriguing, opening new horizons and helping to embrace this changing world. Very Peri, will not only add color to your life, but will  showcase an energetic, joyful mood and dynamic presence that encourages bold creativity and imagery throughout the year".
“The Color of the Year reflects what's happening in our global culture,” said Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute. – “Now is a completely different time. How can we capture this moment in the transforming world as it is? How can we come up with something that symbolizes the global zeitgeist and the transition that the world is experiencing?” She also added that color is becoming one of the ways of communication between people and is able to influence emotions. “The versatility of this new shade of blue, interspersed with reds and purples, underlines the expanding possibilities that lie ahead of us”.

A noteworthy coincidence happened - one of the central places in our new thematic exposition “Fedor Lorie and Egor Cheryatov. Coming back” is occupied by the vase with violets made of double-layer glass. Manufactured by Fyodor Lorie firm, Egor Cheryatov gold and silverware workshop (factory), Val Saint Lambert manufactory in 1908-1916.

Registration to thematic the exhibition“Fedor Lorie and Egor Cheryatov. Coming back" is on the museum website.

* The Pantone Institute of Color is part of the company Pantone. The Institute's staff, led by CEO Leatrice Eisman, study how color affects all areas of our lives - from emotions to consumer demand, and predict color trends. Since 2000, this institution annually names a color (or rather, a shade that already exists in the Pantone registry), which, according to researchers, is gradually beginning to prevail in all areas - from cinema to industrial design, which means that in the next 365 days it will be the most relevant one.
In 2020, Classic Blue became the color of the year, and in 2021 - two shades at once: Ultimate Gray and Illuminating yellow.
