Lecture "Keepers of Time. The history of watchmaking". Part I (video)

Today on the customary lecture day in our museum, we present a video recording of the lecture “Keepers of Time. The history of watchmaking” (part 1).

The lecture is divided in two parts. In the first part one, you will learn about the history of watchmaking, learn why people became interested in measuring time. The story will focus on the history of the first samples’ creation, you will be acquainted with various types of clocks with the most interesting section of watchmaking - with mechanical clocks and their movements design.

Museum Collection exposition features more than three hundred clocks and watches (long case, wall and console, mantel and table, carriage clocks and pocket watches) that which give an idea of how the clocks’ manufacturing art was developed and the scientific thought progressed.
