The end of the Moscow summer will traditionally be celebrated by an unprecedented event. This year, the Spasskaya Tower festival will be held on the Red Square from August 23 to September 1.

The orchestras from more than 60 countries participated in the Spasskaya Tower International Festival during 12 years of its existence.

The traditional format of the Festival is preserved this year, and the musical theme of the upcoming festival is “Solo with Orchestra”. Military musicians will demonstrate both the collective and solo mastery, revealing the possibilities of different musical instruments, some of them will perform solo. The main theme of the Festival was agreed with all participants. The prologue on the opening day will be soloed by a rock band accompanied by a military band. Which one, not yet communicated in order to maintain the intrigue.

The main theme will find its expression in the performances of star vocalists. Star vocalists - Anita Tsoi, Tamara Gverdtsiteli, Hibla Gerzmava, Mireille Mathieu, as well as the famous jazzman Igor Butman will perform with the Central Military Orchestra of the Armed Forces of Russia on different days.

The individual programs representing the Russian Federation on the Red Square will be performed by The Presidential Band of the Russian Federation, The Band of the Lieutenant General Valery Khalilov of Moscow Military Music College, The Girl Drummers Band of the All-Girls Boarding School and three Bands of Honor Guard from St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don and Novosibirsk and others.
