New Year greetings and a video of top events in 2016

Dear Friends! The Museum “Collection” wishes you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! On the eve of the holidays, we have prepared a video about the top events of the year and are pleased to present it to your attention.

2016 turned out to be a very important year for us: the interior decoration of the Museum site was completed, the development of the display started. All large exhibits were installed in the Museum exhibition halls. They are fair and church organs, orchestrions, harmoniums, polyphones, player pianos, grand pianos and other collection items. Two multi-figured automata: "City of Masters" and "Danish Village” took their places in the permanent exhibition.

Parallel to these works, several exhibits from the Museum Collection were exposed at various external sites. Two music boxes created at the end of the XIXth century took part in the exhibition "The world of the literary fairy tale of Pushkin’s time” in The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts; the phonograph was exhibited in one of the halls of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art within the framework of the project "One-storeyed America: based on true stories". A bronze sculpture of Stalin created by A.N. Kolodin became one of the objects in the installation by Leonid Sokov at the State Tretyakov Gallery. 28 objects from the Museum Collection were presented at the exhibition "The New Year Wonders" which was opened at the All Russian Decorative Art Museum in early December. This event became the conclusive accord of the year.

Participation of five objects from the Museum Collection in the program for assigning the status of "A significant science and technology artifact in Russian museums", held by the Polytechnic Museum became another significant event. All five objects received this status in December 2016.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Let the coming year be happy and successful!
