The restoration of the oldest exhibit of the Museum "Collection" is completed: the English-Dutch clock, attributed to the middle of the 16th century

It took our team of restorers several months to restore the oldest exhibit of the Museum, the English-Dutch clock of the middle of the 16th century. Though we received the clock in relatively good condition, the restoration of its historical appearance took a lot of work. The restorers used ultraviolet to reconstruct the color palette of the clock. It was revealed that a color basis of the clock was not black, but dark blue. The mechanism demanded cleaning. All decorative elements of the construction were restored as well. Nowadays, the clock works and beat off time the same way as five centuries ago, when it was created.
