Singing bird box with a clock in a metal gilded case, with figured vertical ribs decorated with guilloche, engraved foliage and enamel. A guilloche field with transparent red enamel in the frame with an engraved ornament is on the top panel. An oval aperture bordered by a frame with an engraved ornament of laurel leaves and covered with a hinged lid in a foliage frame is in the center. An enamel image of an Alpine landscape with a house and trees on the lakeshore is on the lid. The lid inner surface is mirror polished. The lateral panels are guilloche; a clock in a foliage frame, glazed oval silver dial, hour’s graduation by Arabic numerals, minutes’ graduation, two blued steel hands and a crown is on the front panel. An aperture for the movement winding, screw heads and hallmarks are on the top panel. A sliding lever for the bird’s movement activation is on the front panel. When the movement is switched on, the oval lid on the top panel opens, a miniature bird in bright feathers appears. It swirls in place, flaps its wings, opens and closes the beak. The sound movement imitates bird’s chirping. At the end of the program, the bird descends into the groove in the openwork lattice and the lid is closed. The box is stored in dark-brown box with a lock and a golden ornament on the lid.
