An open-faced mechanical pocket watch in gold case with a hinged glazed front cover, a quarter-repeating activation stem, and a suspension ring.
A small golden dial – featuring an engine-turned (guilloché) center, two blued steel hands, Roman hour numerals, and external – is positioned in the center of the dial plate. The enamel dial plate is decorated with polychrome painted depiction of a young woman in classical attire, sitting on a lakeshore and playing a lyre. Above the dial, an open music book displays sheet music in the key of C major. Opposite the twelve o'clock position, a repeating plunge stem with cylindrical head and a suspension ring is installed.
The watch movement is equipped with a quarter repeater on two gongs and features a cylinder escapement with simple brass three-arm balance wheel. The musical mechanism is built around pinned program disc and set of tuned steel laminas (tuned teeth), a type known as "sur plateau". The movements are protected by gilded cuvette and an engine-turned (guilloché) back cover. The arbours for the winding key extend through holes in the cuvette.
