The musical mechanical pocket watch is housed in a circular, open-faced gold case featuring a hinged glazed front cover, a solid back cover, a cuvette, an automaton activation stem, and a suspension ring. The bezels on both sides, the band, and the back cover are decorated with net-pattern engine-turning (guilloché). A polished oval reserve is located at the bottom of the back cover.

The dial plate features an automaton set against painted background depicting distant mountains with houses and trees in front, and water surface in the foreground. The automaton consists of a tightrope walker dancing on a wire stretched between the trees. Below, two female musicians are shown playing a lyre and a guitar. All figures are crafted from multi-colored gold.

Engine-turned golden dial with black Arabic hour numerals set on circular white enamel plaques is in the lower section of the dial plate. The dial is encircled by white enamel track with minute divisions. The blued steel hour and minute hands are designed as Breguet open-tipped hands.

The watch movement is equipped with a quarter repeater, a cylinder escapement, and a simple brass three-arm balance wheel. The primary components of the musical mechanism are a pinned program cylinder (pin drum) and a musical comb with thirty-three tuned teeth. Each mechanism is powered by its own mainspring motor. The movements are mounted between two gilded, engraved plates. The quarter hours are struck by hammers on two gongs (wire gongs). The repeater is activated by a plunge stem on the pendant, while the music and automaton are triggered by sliders located on the case flank. The watch was made for the Chinese market. A winding key is in the set.
