Cast-metal chassis of the phonograph mechanism is mounted in rectangular wooden case. The surfaces of the case are veneered in walnut and polished. A spring-driven motor, complete with a gear train and a centrifugal governor, is mounted on the underside. A removable winding crank is inserted into a socket on the case right side. Mounted on the upper side of the chassis are the assemblies of the phonograph drive mechanism. The chassis and its assemblies are decorated with narrow red and goldish pinstripes. The chassis features a goldish decal depicting the trademark: a phonograph, a crowing rooster, and a banner inscribed with the motto “JE CHANTE HAUT ET CLAIR” (I sing loud and clear).
