On the front side of the chassis: “TRADE MARK THOMAS A EDISON”; on the patent plate: “EDISON HOME PHONOGRAPH MANUFECTURED UNDER THE PATENTS OF THOMAS A. EDISON, et als, at ORANGE N. J., U.S.A.”, patent dates ranging from October 27, 1896 to May 22, 1906, on the chassis rim: “328365”. On the horn: “TRADE MARK THOMAS A EDISON/SYGNET No 11”, “PATENTED: AUG.22,1905. AUG. 28, 1906. JULY 2, 1907. OTHER PATENTS PENDING”
Cast chassis supporting the phonograph mechanism is mounted on the top cover of a rectangular wooden case featuring molded base. Goldish logo reading “Edison” is applied to the front side of the case. The chassis is finished in black enamel and decorated with an ornament of fine goldish lines. A spring-driven motor is mounted inside the case. The detachable winding crank is inserted into a slot on the right side of the case.
