The nude female figure is treated with deliberate simplicity and clarity of sculptural form. The gentle curve of the torso and the free gesture of the arms introduce a sense of natural movement into the otherwise calm pose. The sculptor concentrates on the soft modelling of the body, avoiding abrupt transitions and excessive detail. The elongated proportions and generalized treatment accord with the decorative character of the work. Gilding gives the bronze a warm glow and reveals subtle transitions in the relief. A small marble pedestal of restrained form provides a rigorous finish to the statuette.
