The sculpture depicts a female violinist playing. She stands with her torso slightly inclined to the side and her head bent toward the instrument. The violin rests on her left shoulder; with one hand she holds it by the neck, while with the other she draws the bow across the strings. She wears a long dress with wide short sleeves and a belt; her hair is arranged in a high coiffure. The figure is set on a tall rectangular base of light-colored banded onyx.
