The sculpture depicts a dancer during a performance: she stands on the toe of one foot, while the other leg is slightly bent and extended backward. Her torso is upright, and her head is thrown back and turned to the side. Both arms are raised toward her head; behind her back she holds a large open feather fan. She wears a short stage costume with a fitted bodice and a narrow skirt trimmed with a ruffle. The figure is set on a tall rectangular base of banded stone.
