The sculptural figure of Pierrot in wide trousers, a smock with huge buttons, a ruff collar, and a skullcap is located on a rectangular base featuring a relief ground and a stepped elevation. The character is making music on a lute, leaning with his right hand on his eponymous leg which is placed on a step. The neck of the instrument is raised high in his left hand—precisely where the character's head is turned and his gaze is directed. The figure is executed in patinated bronze, while the face and hands are made of ivory.
