Set on an oval base with smooth profiled plinth and relief ground depicting a rocky slope is a sculptural composition of a highlander. He is wearing a fur hat and a waist-fitted tunic, with a dagger at his belt and a cased rifle behind his back, seated upon a horse slowly ascending a hill. The horse is laden with two traditional oriental saddlebags known as khurdzhins (double saddlebags). In one khurdzhin sits a boy wearing a fur hat, and in the other – a sheep. Behind the highlander, who is leaning slightly forward and holding the reins in his left hand, is a small female figure wrapped in garments, pressing close to him.
