Silver, gold, citrine, rock crystal, onyx, rutile quartz, diamonds; enamel over guilloche, lapidary work, polishing, matt finishing

Height 13.5 cm, base diameter 7.8 cm

Silver egg with the hinged upper part is covered with translucent white enamel over guilloche; the finial and snap-shutter are made from citrine cabochons in gold setting. Gold stem rests on rock crystal bed and transparent rock crystal base. A figure of a chick from a solid frosted crystal of citrine with onyx eyes is nearby. The egg is gilded inside and hides a “surprise” in the shape of a chicken and two chicks made of unprocessed yellow diamond weighing 28.15 carats, with gold scallop and beaks and eyes made of black diamonds in gold setting, sitting in gold nest on the rutile quartz base.
