Partially rubbed maker's mark on the inner surface, likely "G. T.", a sun-shaped gold standard mark, several other poorly legible hallmarks, and the number "1515"
The snuffbox features a rectangular gold body with rounded corners and a hinged lid. The lid is adorned with a rectangular enamel miniature depicting two pensive cherubs leaning on a parapet, framed by chased floral patterns and a dark blue enamel background. The cherubs are inspired by the figures from the lower section of the "Sistine Madonna" painting by Italian artist Raphael Sanzio. The rear side and lateral panels are decorated with rectangular engine-turned panels framed with blue enamel. The corners feature vertical floral patterns.
