Miniature on the rear side signed "Johann Friederich Ardin" with the date "Ao 1715". On the inner surface there are Marks on the inner side: maker's mark "AV…" under a crown, tax farmer Henry Clavel (1782-1789) mark, French guarantee excise mark (1819-1838), Paris
Gold snuffbox, oblong, octagonal in shape with canted corners, with a hinged lid. An oval enamel medallion with a painted portrait of Joseph Clemens of Bavaria, Archbishop-Elector of Cologne is on the lid. Archbishop of Bavaria is depicted in white wig, in an ermine-fur mantle, with an order ribbon on his chest, enclosed in blue enamel frame. The lid, rims and base are decorated with guilloché ornament with a blue enamel border. The base is decorated in the center with an oval medallion in the form of foliage scrolls made of blue enamel.
