The snuffbox features a four-color gold oval case with a hinged lid. In the center of the lid is an oval medallion with a portrait miniature of a young girl, framed by dark green guilloché enamel and a "lace" of diamonds forming a bow with ribbons cascading down the sides. The medallion is surrounded by chased rocaille decoration of roses and shells against a pounced background. The bottom is decorated with an oval medallion featuring a composition of flowers and garden tools (a basket, a watering can, a shovel). The upper part of this rosette is topped with an elegant bow with ribbons cascading down the sides. The sides are adorned with four applied, chased oval rosettes depicting musical and garden instruments surrounded by floral garlands. The perimeter of the case is decorated with friezes of floral patterns (garlands of flowers, roses) and geometric guilloché ornaments.
