On the lid inner side, the manufacturer's mark “P.HK” is stamped twice, along with the Austrian assay mark “A3” corresponding to 18-karat fineness, and Vienna city hallmark (1807-1866). Stamped twice on the rim is the French assay mark featuring an owl for imported goods after 1853
The rectangular golden snuffbox features rounded corners decorated with flowers, with a hinged lid. The lid and sides are adorned with six enamel miniatures depicting genre scenes in a tavern. The corners are designed in the form of fluted columns.
