The surfaces of the lid, base, and sides are decorated with painted enamel images: allegorical figures with military trophies the lid; landscapes with ruins on the walls; putti with pieces of ammunition on the base. The compositions are placed on guilloché background of radiating rays and enclosed in rocaille frames.
