Rectangular mother-of-pearl snuffbox is with a hinged lid.The mother-of-pearl panels are enclosed in a gold mount chased with rocaille motifs. On each panel is a multi-figure composition within a cartouche, depicting court life, including scenes of dressing, kissing a hand, and walking with musicians.
