Master's mark; mark of the tax farmer Antoine Leschaudel (1744-1750); annual mark in the form of the letter ‘F’, corresponding to the years 1746–1747 on the base; annual in the form of letter ‘H’, corresponding to the years 1748–1749 (the lid inner side). Engraved along the rim edge: VALLAYER AUX GOBELINS.
Rectangular gold snuffbox with a hinged lid. The lid and sides are decorated with allegorical compositions featuring cherubs. Four cherubs with a chariot are on the lid. The figures and details of the composition are carved from shells and mother-of-pearl. The body and the lid of the snuffbox are decorated along the edge with polychrome enamel foliage frieze.
