Rectangular gold snuffbox with a hinged lid. An oval miniature with a bust portrait (three-quarter right) of Emperor Alexander I is mounted into the lid, framed by a border of large diamonds. The remaining area of the lid is decorated with a relief floral ornament on matted background; the corners are accented with inserts of large diamonds. The bottom is decorated in the center with an oval medallion featuring a floral rosette inside, and in the corners with floral scrolls with leaves and berries. The walls are decorated with a relief floral ornament on matted background and enamel inserts. Thin enamel bands encircle the edges of the lid and bottom.
The snuffbox is enclosed in the authentic rectangular case, covered with green velvet, with a hinged lid and a clasp. The recess and the inner surface of the lid are lined with red velvet.
